Info’s for participants

The climate camp is a grass-root democratically organized process in which people from many different contexts take part in. Beyond that, the camp is place of living alternatives in which you can participate actively: care work, such as cooking and cleaning, is done by everyone and important decisions are made by consensus. We live vegan and with a careful use of resources.

How to get to the camp?

The camp will take place in the village of Pödelwitz and will definitely be visible there. Please organize your journey for yourselves and keep your cars at home if possible. The journey from Leipzig takes about an hour. Direct busses are very uncommon, that’s why you should check beforehand or – even better – just take your bikes. By bike, you can reach the camp from Neukieritzsch train station (8 km) or Pegau tran station (10 km). From these two stations, we will put up signs on the way. For those who cannot use these ways to the camp, we offer a shuttle service (especially families and people who have problems walking). Please contact the following adress for this: barrierefreiheit-kcsc18@riseup.net.

What about food and drinks?

Our kitchen will cook for all attendees and guests. Due to ecological and political reasons, we will not use animal products in our kitchen, with small exceptions (containered food or incompatibilities). The vegan food, with some especially labeled vegetarian products, is paid for with your camp fee. The kitchen needs support for cutting and washing dishes. Please register yourselves in lists at the info tent. Should you have allergies or incompatibilities, please talk to our team at the info tent. We will find a solution together. Drinks can be bought at the bar in the noon and evening.

How much does it cost?

The camp is financed by donations and camp fees. Please support this appropriate to your own financial situation. Camp fees will be received at the info tent. The fees can also be sent to our bank account. Our guiding value for accommodation and the vegan food is from 10 to 15 euros. In case you are registered for a course of the Degrowth Summer School and did pay online, you only are asked to pay for the kitchen (around 8 euros/day).

Where do I camp?

Please put up your tent in the marked areas – and only there. The paths must be free of obstacles at any time in case of fire and other emergencies. If you have extra space in your tent that you want to share please go to the info tent.

Where do I get more information?
